What You're Paying For
A checklist for comparing written quotes on the same basis
Model, quantity, and replacement policy
Confirm the exact implant, disposables, controller or frame components, and who pays if a device must be exchanged.
Surgeon, assistant, anesthesia, and consultations
Ask which preoperative, inpatient, routine follow-up, urgent, and revision visits are included.
Operating room, recovery, room, and nursing
Clarify planned length of stay, unexpected extra days, readmission, laboratory work, pharmacy, and emergency care.
Evaluation, sessions, equipment, and remote support
Ask who arranges therapy, which clinicians are acceptable, how progress is reported, and what happens when more care is needed.
Calibrated radiographs, review, and extra studies
Confirm whether outside imaging is accepted, how images are transferred, and how urgent reviews or additional scans are billed.
Removal, revision, manipulation, or grafting
Ask what is planned, what is conditional, where it would occur, and which professional and facility fees would apply.
A comparable written quote should state
Scope + exclusions + contingency terms
Currency, tax, payment schedule, refund terms, insurance assumptions, expiration date, and who carries costs when the plan changes.
Often-Overlooked Costs
Lost income, caregiving, and accessibility needs during restricted mobility
Travel & accommodation if surgery is far from home
Assistive equipment (wheelchair, walker, shower chair)
Prescriptions, medication monitoring, and supplies specified by the treating team
Urgent assessment, complication treatment, revision surgery, or an extended stay
Later hardware care or another planned treatment stage
Public package prices are not directly comparable because inclusions, currencies, dates, and clinical pathways differ.
Request a dated, itemized written quote and review its assumptions before making a financial decision.
