IT band (Iliotibial band)
A thick band of fibrous tissue running along the outside of the thigh from hip to tibia.

Definition
A thick band of fibrous connective tissue that runs along the outside of the thigh. It extends from the hip (iliac crest of the pelvis) down to the outer part of the tibia (shinbone).
