Definition
Osteolysis is localized loss or resorption of bone visible around an implant or in another disease process. In limb lengthening it has been reported around recalled STRYDE nails, but an imaging finding requires clinical interpretation and does not by itself identify the cause or predict fixation failure. Symptoms, serial imaging, implant type, and current regulator guidance inform management. [1][2]
