Definition
Range of motion is the movement available at a joint, usually recorded in degrees with a defined position and measurement method. In limb lengthening, serial hip, knee, and ankle measurements can reveal soft-tissue loss of motion, but ROM should be interpreted with pain, strength, nerve function, gait, and the treatment phase.
