What Limb Lengthening Surgery Does

Limb lengthening surgery divides a bone in a controlled , stabilizes the segments, and gradually separates them so new bone can form in the gap. Muscles, nerves, blood vessels, skin, and joints must adapt at the same time. The procedure is therefore a prolonged treatment process, not a single operation followed by ordinary fracture healing.
